Salvation—What Is It, Really?

My Dear Friends,

There are many different religions today and each one teaches that they have salvation for you. There is the psychological notion placed in the mind by the priests or teachers (preachers) that those who worship with them will have their sins forgiven and they will go to heaven where they will live with the God they worship forever.

All of these religions claim to get their teachings from either the Bible, Koran, or Talmud except the Catholic priests who study and use psychology instead of the Inspired Scriptures. The Catholic Church claims they have the God-given right to write their own laws and even change the Laws found in the Holy Scriptures. Is such a thing Scripturally permissible? The answer may surprise you.

Mattithyah 4:4—
But He answered, and said; It is written: Man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the Mouth of Yahweh.

Yaaqob 4:12—
There is One Lawgiver, Who is able to save and to destroy—who are you who condemns another?

Proverbs 30:6—
Do not add to His Words; the Laws and the Prophets, or He will reprove you, and you will be found a liar.

Deuteronomy 4:2—
You shall not add to the Word which I command you, nor shall you take anything from it, so that you may keep the Laws of Yahweh your Father which I command you.

Deuteronomy 12:32—
Whatsoever I command you, be careful to observe and do it, you shall not add to it, nor take away from it.

Revelation 22:18-20—
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the Words of the Prophecy of this Book: If any man will add to these things, it will come to pass that he will add to himself the plagues that are written in this Book:
19 And if any man will take away from the Words of the Book of this Prophecy, it will come to pass that he will take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of Yahweh Shammah, and from the things which are written in this Book.
20 He Who testifies these things, says: Surely I come quickly! HalleluYahweh! May this be so! Come, Yahshua Messiah.

Although Protestants claim to disagree with the Catholic Church changing the written Inspired Laws of the Holy Scriptures, they follow and teach the changed laws that the Catholic Church instituted instead of choosing to follow the original Laws in the Holy Scriptures.

For instance, the original Laws showing the weekly Sabbath read as follows:
Genesis 2:2—
And on the Seventh Day Yahweh ended His Work which He had done, and He rested on the Seventh Day from all His Work which He had done.

Exodus 20:8-11—
8 Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it Holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 But the Seventh Day is the Sabbath of Yahweh your Heavenly Father. In it you shall not do your work: you, nor your wife, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor the stranger who dwells within your gates.
11 For in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that are in them; and rested the Seventh Day. Therefore, Yahweh blessed the Sabbath Day, and hallowed it; Yahweh made the Sabbath Day Holy.

There still remains the keeping of the Seventh Day Sabbath for those who worship Yahweh. Since Yahweh does not permit the changing of the Sabbath and the Scriptures say plainly that the Seventh Day Sabbath Laws still stand, just who is the Catholic Church worshiping, according to the Prophets, Apostles, and the Savior? Compare the following Scriptures:
I Yahchanan 3:7-8—
7 Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices Righteousness is Righteous, just as He is Righteous.
8
He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Yahweh was manifested; that He might destroy the works of the devil.

I Yahchanan 3:4—
Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Laws; for sin is the transgression of the Laws.

The Seventh Day Sabbath is a Law, one of the Ten Commandments; to break this Law is sin. It still remains a Law.

Hebrews 4:9-11—
9 Therefore, there remains the keeping of the Sabbath to the people of Yahweh,
10 For he who has entered into His Rest has also ceased from his own works, as Yahweh did from His.
11 Therefore, let us be zealous to enter into that Rest, so that no one may fall after the same example of unbelief.

Saturday is the Seventh Day Sabbath; there is no question about that. Time has never been lost. The Savior kept the Seventh Day Sabbath. The Apostles also kept it even after Yahshua's ascension until they were killed for keeping and teaching the Laws of Yahweh. We have a perfect record of time from Yahshua until this present time period. So, there is no doubt as to which day is the Seventh Day. The only question is whether we should keep the Laws of Yahweh or the law of the Catholic Church.

As to who changed the Laws of Yahweh, there is no doubt. Notice the following history from Bible Readings For The Home:

“The pope is of so great authority and power that he can modify, explain, or interpret even divine laws… The pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man but of God, and he acts as vicegerent of God upon earth.”
—Translated from Lucius Ferraris, Prompta Bibliotheca (ready Library), “Papa,” art. 2.

“They [the Catholics] allege the change of the Sabbath into the Lords day, contrary, as it seemeth, to the Decalogue; and they have no example more in their mouths than the change of the Sabbath. They will needs have the churchs power to be very great, because it hath dispensed with the precept of the Decalogue.”
—The Augsburg Confession (Lutheran), Part 2, art. 7, in Philip Schaff, The Creeds of Christendom (Harper), Vol. 2, p. 64.

“It [the Roman Catholic church] reversed the Fourth commandment by doing away with the Sabbath of Gods word, and instituting Sunday as a holiday.
—N. Summerbell, History of the Christian Church (1873), p. 415.

The Catechismus Romanus was commanded by the Council of Trent and published by the Vatican Press, by order of Pope Pius V, in 1566. This catechism for priests says: “It pleased the church of God, that the religious celebration of the Sabbath day should be transferred to the Lords day.”
Catechism of the Council of Trent (Donovans translation, 1867), part 2, chap. 4, p. 345. The same, in slightly different wording, is in the McHugh and Callan translation (1937 ed.), p. 402.

Ques.—How prove you that the church hath power to command feasts and holydays?
Ans.—By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same church.”
—Henry Tuberville, An Abridgment of the Christian Doctrine (1833 approbation), p. 58 (Same statement in Manual of Christian Doctrine, ed. By Daniel Ferris [1916 ed.], p. 67.)

Ques.—Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute festivals of precept?
Ans.—Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.”
—Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism (3d ed.), p. 174.

“The Catholic Church, . . . by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.”
The Catholic Mirror, official organ of Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893.

“1. Is Saturday the 7th day according to the Bible & the 10 Commandments,
    “I answer yes.
“2. Is Sunday the first day of the week & did the church change the 7th day—Saturday—for Sunday, the 1st day:
    “I answer yes.
“3. Did Christ change the day?
    “I answer no! Faithfully yours,
“J. Card. Gibbons”
--Gibbons autograph letter.

Ques.—Which is the Sabbath day?
Ans.—Saturday is the Sabbath day.
Ques.—Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Ans.—We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.”
—Peter Geiermann,
The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1946 ed.), p. 50. Geiermann received the “apostolic blessing” of Pope Pius X on his labors, January 25, 1910.

History shows that the great Priest Abel was the first Righteous Priest of Yahweh. He kept the Sabbaths the same way Yahweh kept the Sabbaths. Yahweh testifies of Abel's Righteousness.

Genesis 4:1-2—
1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and she said; I have brought forth a man with the help of Yahweh.
2 Then she bore again; this time his brother Abel was born. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon by Edward Robinson, page 987 shows that keeper of sheep means Teacher of Righteousness. This same reference on page 598 shows that tiller of the ground means servant of the gods (elohim).

Genesis 4:4-8—
4 And Abel, besides bringing his offering of the fruit of the ground, also brought a sacrifice of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat. And Yahweh honored Abel and his offerings;
5 But He did not honor Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
6 So Yahweh said to Cain: Why are you angry? Why are you downcast?
7 If you do Righteousness, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do Righteousness, sin is crouching at your door. The desire to sin is with you, but you must overcome it!
8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were spread abroad, that Cain rose against Abel his brother and killed him.

In verse 4, notice that the sacrifice of Abel was the firstlings of his flock and of the fat. Since this is a Statute of Yahweh, we see that Abel also kept Yahweh's Statutes. Compare:
Leviticus 10:14-15—
14 The breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the heave offering you shall eat in a clean place: you, your sons, and your daughters with you; for your share and your sons' share; given from the sacrifices of peace offering from the children of Israyl.
15 The thigh of the heave offering and the breast of the wave offering they shall bring with the offerings of fat made by fire to offer, as a wave offering in front of Yahweh. And it shall be yours, and your sons' with you, by a Statute forever, as Yahweh has commanded.

Notice the last part of verse 14, these are sacrifices of peace offerings, and verse 15 shows the offerings of fat which were done according to the Statues of Yahweh. Leviticus 10:11 tells us that these are the Statutes of Yahweh, the same as were taught to Mosheh.
